Penalty Charges when travelling with Incorrect first name on the ticket

hi,
I would like to know, if someone is travelling with his/her nick name (in first name) surname is correct on the ticket. What penalities will be applicable on the passanger.
The passanger also has his/her id proof.

As per rule your name must exactly match with that in you Identity Card. The TTE has fully right to consider you ticket-less and charge penalty from you. Practically if you request them humbly most of them consider it and allow you to travel but in no way you can claim as you right.

Secondly when TTE comes, even before him asking you to show your ID, take it out and display before him. In more than 50% of cases they won't even check your ID. Don't panic and behave normally with them - with a real smile. Don't also disclose that your name isn't the same.

Finally even if you're considered ticket-less you'll still be allowed to keep your reserved ticket. In short you won't be asked to de-board the train.

Hi,

Can you please provide all details of Penalty charges a TC can impose on passenger.

Penalties like
1. When passenger board the train with out ticket into 2A, General, Sleeper and other different classes..
2. When passenger board the Super fast train with Express Train or Passenger Train.

If we have book on these penalty charges, name the book and where I can find it.
