If you're on wait listed ticket, you'll need to pay for Pantry food.
If you're allotted a berth by the TTE then you're eligible for free food in Rajdhani, Shatabdi trains.
Normally those who serve food on contract will give you plate of Rs. 100 for Rs. 50 only since they "keep" this money in their pocket.
