Getting refund due to travel in 3AC with 2AC ticket booked in Tatkal

I have purchased 2AC ticket from Rajaji Bhavan, Besant Nagar, Chennai on 25-09-12 in Tatkal Quota (PNR No.455-7859076),for my journey from Chennai Central to Hyderabad by Train No.12603(
a2-40-UB). I have made payment through my HDFC Credit Card .But on 26th Sept, 2012 I have been accommodated in 3AC-6 (B 2) coach for the said train and that coach instead of 2AC. The TTC has issued a slip bearing No. 0378539(Low Class Certificate. So, may I know how the difference of train fare including Tatkal Charges will be refunded to me. Please guide me in this regard. A line of guidance in the matter is highly solicited.

You'll need to file the TDR along with the low class certificate copy at TTE office or deputy station superintendent. The correct rule to get refund for traveling in lower class while holding higher class ticket is here.

You you've got only two days to file the TDR.

Also in most cases Railways does not give the refund. They keep it in their kitty .
