How 1A coupe get allocated( need berths in single coupe)

I have booked Godavari 1A confirmed ticket from SC to VSKP. I have booked it for me and my girlfriend but we haven't got any berth allocated. I am looking for 2 berth coupe. When will i get to know which cabin we got (2berth or 4 berth)? How do they allocate?

In case of 1A, you get seat numbers after chart preparation only. You may get 4 berth cabin or two berth coupe which is allocated as per some internal(sometimes random) algorithm from Railways booking software. As a thumb rule if a lady is there with you then you'll mostly likely be allotted coupe. Otherwise if coupe are empty you can ask TTE to allot it to you while in train. 1st AC berths/coupe may easily go empty. But before boarding just check the waiting list queue for 1A for your train so you'll have some idea whether or not there will be empty coupe or not.

Thanks.. After i booked the tickets there are only 2 available seats are there.. I booked for GODAVARI EXPRESS. Now WL1. How can we guess here whether we get coupe or not?
as lady is traveling with me there are more chance we get coupe(2berth) right?

Sorry for little confusion, you'll need to contact TTE to change births. Before boarding you can check if there are coupe available in the chart with TTE or pasted at the entrance.

Moreover there is always a VIP quota in 1A.

confused :S I have a doubt You said it will be decided as per chart and if lady is there i have chance to get coupe. So is it wrong?

And thanks for suggesting me to contact TTE for coupe if i don't get a coupe

Railways internal algorithm will give priority to you in allocating Coupe since a female member is there with you. In case you don't get it after chart preparation then please ask TTE how to get it.

Oh.. Brain is not stable.. everytime doubts... One more doubt
will they give preference to us for a coupe as we are not married. But our sur name initial is same .
