  • How to verify a ticket whether a person has traveled or not?

I'm the HR manager in a company and many employees are submitting fake train journey tickets after the travel date is over. So after1-2 days of train journey we're not able to check the status of train ticket as the PNR status check only shows "PNR Flushed/Not generated".

So is there any official way to know if somebody has really done the journey.

For a ticket there are four things:
    • Person has booked the ticket, took Photostat then cancelled the ticket
    • Person never booked the ticket but used another ticket details( but name, age is changed)
    • Person booked the ticket but never boarded the train and may have cancelled the ticket after chart preparation
    • Person never booked the ticket and gives fictitious details about ticket details

To get the journey travel status is not easy. You'll need to request the Divisional office for the journey details inquiry. For example Meerut, Ghaziabad stations will come under Delhi Division.

Secondly records are kept only for 1 year maximum. This service is free. Your letter will be routed through several channels and the ticket numbers shall be verified from the travel charts too and you'll be told of the status.

You can also do minimum checks using common sense like checking the train if it really ran on that day or whether it runs on a particular day. You can also find out the booking date since you can guess how many days before travel date one needs to book before travel date.

One person was caught since he traveled in a train on Wednesday which never runs on this particular day.

You can also inquire about his/her arrival timing and check that with the timings reported at http://trainenquiry.com/ . This Indian Rail site shows train timings of even the one of last week. You'll need to do some analysis.

Using transaction id which is ever increasing number we can at least guess and cross check that day's transaction id.

you can check your pnr status on railenquiry.in/pnr-status

you can also opt for free SMS, email and App notifications, so you need not check your pnr status again as you will be notified everytime there is a change in pnr status

well, you can only check the berth status and train confirmation through PNR status. You can do it by just visiting to our site onlinepnrstatus.co.in and enter your 10 digit PNR code.
