  • Carrying Pet Dog in Train from Durg to Howrah

    Dear Sir,

I want to travel from Durg to Howrah station in May'2014.
But I have a pet dog, pug (3 months old), in my family (Me, my wife & my 10 years old son), which i want to carry alongwith me.

Can you just suggest me with every rules & regulations for carrying pet in train?

Which train will be suitable for carrying the pet?

    Regards,
    Riju

You should not take 3 month old dog in break-van. Officially you can only carry in 1st AC compartment of whose 2/4 seats are all booked by you or the companion passengers allow you to carry the pet.

I suggest you talk to doctor and have him administer some sedatives(along with certificate of fitness) and travel in the SL coach at night time only. Carry him in some small Iron box below your seat. Seats near the gate is advisable due to higher noise from the doors.

You can pay little bribe to the TTE if caught.

Otherwise 1st AC could be too costly and break-van bit risky.

In any case reach 1 hour before the train and take ticket fare for booking your dog in the break van.

In case your ticket is checked at destination station gate you can show this.
