Wrong Policy of TATKAL Railway Reservation Rules
The existing Tatkal Railway Reservation Rules are not benefitted to the Public at large/ Online Registered Individual users of Irctc, in the following manner:-

As per existing policy Tatkal Reservation can only be done from one day before the date of scheduled journey date, i.e. if journey date is 15th August, Tatkal Reservation can only be done from 14th August and Not before 14th August, i.e. For 15th August, Tatkal Reservation can Not be done Neither on today (12th August) Nor on 13th August, and it can be done only on 14th August, and on 14th August also, Tatkal Reservation can Not be done before 10.00 A.M., and within a span of 1/2 Hour, all the seats allotted to Tatkal Quota gets completed and thereafter only waiting list continues.

In Order to avoid the above situation, my comments/ suggestions are as under:-

(1)The Restriction of Tatkal booking ONLY ONE DAY BEFORE the date of scheduled journey BE REMOVED PERMANENTLY, because in my opinion, there is No loss to the Indian Railways, if any one Book Tatkal Ticket EITHER ONE DAY BEFORE the date of Journey OR 30 DAYS OR MORE BEFORE the date of Journey.

(2)If the Restriction of Tatkal booking ONE DAY BEFORE the date of scheduled journey BE REMOVED PERMANENTLY, Then in my opinion, there will be NO RUSH NEITHER at the Railway Booking Counter NOR at the Railway Reservation Website, and in this way, the Public at large will be benefitted.

But what about those who have emergency and need to travel ASAP? I think a few tickets should be there before 1 hour of departure of train too to meet someone's travel emergencies. Now if father's son is in hospital then he will use Taktal.
